About Cocomo Rock

Reverend Cocomo Rock is the founder and lead minister for 191914 Ministries, Inc., a non-denominational, faith-driven outreach that creates and supports initiatives that link faith and the arts together to enhance the socioeconomic recovery efforts of people recovering from crisis.  Cocomo is also the owner/operator of The Little Red Truck Company.”  He currently hosts the literary open mic series, “Writers Out Loud” at the Green Street Arts Center in Middletown, CT.

In addition to performing the ministerial duties of clergyman, Cocomo is a songwriter, vocalist, and author of the independently published poetry and memoir collection, “Predators, Healers, Nurturers, and Prey.” 

Orphaned at the age of ten, Cocomo’s formal education was interrupted for the next seven years of his life.  Later educated at Edward Waters College, in Jacksonville, FL, Cocomo has gone on to work in the fields of HIV Prevention, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counseling, Business/Computer Technology Education, and Employment Training.

Energized by his passion for social justice and drawing from the rich mosaic of his own life’s journey, Cocomo delivers inspirational addresses at colleges, churches, and civic groups throughout Connecticut.  Receiving his diagnosis in 1985, Cocomo is a twenty-three year champion of living with HIV, the virus that causes AIDS.

Cocomo Rock is a native of Jacksonville, Florida, currently residing in Middletown, Connecticut where he is a member of First Church of Christ, UCC
